Re: bearing replcement Bosch WFO2465GB
You won’t like it very much…..
Make sure that that you have an entirely free Sunday. Remove drum assembly from the machine – the front of the machine comes off. Take pics/make diagrams of where any wiring goes. Disconnect hoses, suspension legs, remove soap box to give yourself enough room.
Splitting the tub is the real fun part. There are some screws, but it’s clipped together. The clips have to go – don’t panic, there are extra screws in the bearing kit to compensate.
If you haven’t done this before, you’re probably about three hours in. Pulley off, put bolt back on and drive the shaft out using a significantly large hammer and drift. Check shaft carefully for marks, damage, grooves. If they are there, the job just became uneconomic. If it looks good, use the hammer and drift to knock out the bearings and seals. Work evenly around the edges of the bearings to drive them out. Replacement is the reverse process – make very sure to drive on the outer race of the bearings and not clip the middle.
I’m a professional repairer and I hate these. Got it down to about two hours now – you will need extreme patience to sort this.
