ParticipantI did email Ken on this today, but thought i would ask any one else regarding Bearing tool kit.
I have my first Ci 555 bearing job and first 5v2 to do.
I currently use an old hpt extractor tool with several sized shims for many different size bearings, but it is getting a bit worn and could do with updating.
Does anyone make there own?
or know of someone that will make them up?

KeymasterI got it. 🙂
There was some dude on the phone to me a few weeks ago with a removal kit for plastic tanks who was supposed to be sending me a kit to evaluate but, it’s never appeared. 😕
I’ll try and chase it down.

Not wanting to speak out of turn here…. but due to the cost of spares being so cheap surely its a false investment just changing the bearings on their own. The repair won’t last, so backhalf and shaft has got to be the recommended approach hasn’t it?

Yes sounds like it, for some reason there is a rumble coming from that area, maybe the seal was not seated correctly on assembly?
But as its rumbling it causing a spin problem, because of the imbalance, really odd.
Will soon see once its apart.
This one particular c/x has had a few hick ups with this one, on the odd occasion the water does not drain out from the fabric compartment, also her own fault month ago key fob stuck in the ball valve, whether this was a contributing facture your guess is as good as mine.
There was a slight noise then but did not connect it until my engineer went back this time!PS I seem to be having a few valves failing on me latlely only on the 2s, they must be the same on the 5s?
Just had a call from a c/x one delivered yesterday woke up to water in the drum.!!!

Result!
A test kit is being sent to me soon as I prodded a little. 😉
It’s designed to take out the shells as well from plastic tanks so could be a very useful tool. Seems a decent price as well, about £70 I reckon.

I did one of the same myself and fitted the lot.
No need to make the job too difficult is there 😉Steve
