Participant3 yr old fridge/freezer unit kept in garage. Both crisper/chiller drawer and the one above in the fridge compartment have started to freeze everything in them. Icecream kept on the top shelf of the freezer beside the ice making tray is turning soft. Any pointers?????
Reading from the test mode are as follows

I don’t have access to Beko technical here but if there’s a flap/valve between the fridge and freezer then it’s possible that is stuck open. It’s the logical place to start looking IMO.
That would mean that there is too much cold air being drawn from the freezer so, it doesn’t cool correctly but given cold air falls, would likely mean that lower levels of the fridge started to cool too much. Which fits with the symptoms.
If I remember or, someone reminds me after 9am tomorrow when I’m back in the office, I’ll have a look at the configuration and technical to confirm.

Fan on freezer side is slowed of stopped altogether. Needs replacing, this normally corrects the fault described. No/poor circulation of air, cold air will collect at bottom as described in post above.

Ah, that’s be this fan motor…

Fairly common to be used as it fits a number of models.

Yes easy to replace on this model when you take the top back panel off inside the freezer.
The fan is only held on with 2 screws and it plugs in so no wiring to do.

Hi Bob, Is it the panel behind the ice trays? Does it just pull off?
Thanks,

Yes it is behind the ice trays and it just clips in so you just have to pull it off.
It is best to pull it near the top centre you need to put a large screwdriver or large Allen key in the vent to pull it.
But be careful not to damage the polystyrene insulation under the cover.

Biggest problem i’ve had doing them is the screws break when trying to remove them, must be made of pewter, lots of the heads have come off on me.

Once replaced, should the fan start up once the fridge/freezer is switched back on or how does it operate?

Sometimes you have to wait until the temperature drops before the fan starts

Can anyone tell me what readings I should get in test mode if everything is working ok after replacing the fan?

Doors switch needs to be made closed for fan to operate I think.
Temperature readings shoud return to normal if all is working o.k. -
