I have a Beko GNEV320APS that has decided to stop freezing and chilling.
after a few checks I have found that the compressor overload has been dropping out.
proved the condenser coils were reading correct ohms and it took me a few hours scratching my head while trying work out why, before noticing that the condensing fan was not running. so have tested it and it does not work, tries to spin but just aint got the umpth.
if I replace the fan would this be sufficient to keep the condenser overload from tripping or would I be throwing money at a duff fridge freezer.
I can hear the condenser run up then sounds likes its trying to hard before tripping.

    any help would be good.

you say condenser but do you mean compressor

ie does it trip out straight away or does it take 10 mins or so

    Hi yes I mean compressor,
After power is switched on, it Thames about 30s for the compressor to start, after about another 30s if run time the overload trips, and when cooled it starts the compressor again and trips again, obviously the fan is no running so it’s not able to be Cooled.

I’m not able to do a load test on the unit as my meter only goes to 400ma.
The windings are 18. 2 between start & run
About 8 Com and start & similar on Com and run windings

its got all the hallmarks of a compressor failure. the compressor is taking too much current so the safety trip activates

the fan wont affect this, it will only affect its ability to cool but the compressor would still run

    Cheers Dave.

looks like a trip to the skip then.
I guess if you buy a £700 fridge freezer, don’t expect it to last 4 years plus.

Is the compresser cold when it trips after 30 secs? Was going to suggest a desk fan pointed at it to try.

As the faulty fan had failed I thought it cooled the evaporation rad that kept the compressor cool preventing the overload, but have no desk fan, have moved it to outside now so after a good old rainy day it won’t be much good anyway.
