    Hi All,

Hoping someone can help us here.
Have a Beko Asd fridge freezer with built in ice maker.
Long story short.. We broke the ice tray a few months back and ended up having to buy an entire new ice maker unit which fits inside the freezer door.
Have swapped the ice maker over tonight. Gone into service mode and checked all functions. Rotates the tray correctly can fill the tray by activating the water valve, open the bucket etc.. But!!! For the life of me.. It will NOT fill the Ice tray once reset to normal operating mode.

I’ve checked fill time and made sure that is correct.. Everything I can think of.. But still nothing. Ice is turned on.

The new ice maker came with a new sensor pre fitted and the only thing I can think of is it is not reading correctly.. But it is brand new. Can anyone explain exactly how this sensor is meant to work? Do we need to manually fill the ice tray first time round to get the sensor to trigger?

    Any help appreciated.
    Cheers

to be able to check anything will need full model number and commercial code ( number begins with a 7 normally, on the label )

also the part number of the icemaker unit you fitted in case there are 2

Yes i initially thought the same, I did spend hours on this last night and have unplugged and re-plugged the unit several times, I will check again tonight, however I’m almost positive it’s something else.

    My thoughts are the sensor.
Can anyone advise.. How does this sensor work? Is it just a resistor? If so, does it tell the fridge when to open the water valve? Does anyone happen to know the values expected so I can test it on a multi-meter?

    Thanks

    where is this sensor ?

    most sensors are an NTC
since old and new icemakers will have one. measure them both at the same temp and see what you get

Thank you ! will compare tonight and report back. These sensors are mounted on the bottom of the ice tray itself, with a polystyrene holder surrounding it.
