BEKO B5T4923IW displaying wrong cycles

Evening all. As of today, when I turn the dial on the front of my 13 month old BEKO (B5T4923IW) the programmes don’t match where the dial is. e.g. instead of the 12 o’clock being off, it selects a long cycle. However, none of the positions are ‘off’, so it isn’t as if they’ve all just shifted one to the left / right, they are all wrong and some are missing alltogether. When a programme is selected, the cycle itself seems to work no problem. It’s just the wrong cycle.

I took off the front panel and stripped down the board as far as I could and couldn’t see anything obvious wrong.

Any suggestions? Is it a case of trying to get a replacement circuit board?

first check its not mechanical.

see if you can find the off position and see where it is

if not try putting a little bit ( stress little) of wd40 into the rotary sw and work it round a few times and see if things get better

if all no then a new board it is. I will assume its the display board with the rotary switch but cant promise that.

you will also probably have a job getting it as its so new

Thanks for the reply. I disassembled it as much as I could and turned the dial directly. I also thought it was mechanical at first but it seems electrical.

Edit: to confirm, it was turned on and it was the same: the cycles were still messed up.

well could just be a dirty contact in the rotary switch ( hopefully)
