Hello,
I have a BEKO Fridge/Freezer CA7051FFS which was purchased from Comet in Aug 2012.
On the 17th October 2012 the “control board failed” part number – 4360620185 failed resulting in full freezer and fridge shut down resulting in 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of freezer contents and fresh foods in Fridge going off.
This was repaired by Beko direct under warranty.
Fast forward to 15th Dec 2014 and the unit stops any form of cooling again results in loss of contents. (fan stopped, compressor off, light still working)
At this point, felt my hands were tied so to speak due to the time of year and have to act quick if I wanted it working for xmas or purchase a replacement.
I called Beko to see what they could do in terms of repair and they offered to help for £100 call out plus parts or a 12 month service contract for £150 with D&G (im against these types of contracts normally).
Contacted a couple of local indi’s who quoted around £60 call out plus parts, but advised they were no fixed price to fix and it could be a number of things (how longs a piece of string) and advised parts to order are non refundable – so a bit trial and error.
Anyway – cut a long story short, sub-contractor for D&G came out (12 month service plan) and replaced the control board again which has resolved the issue.
I fully understand things break in time, but 2 years for a part which has already been replaced before seems a bit excessive to me ?
Are my expectations too high that this part should of lasted longer the 2 years based on it failing before ?
Would welcome thoughts.
Thanks
