Hi everyone,
came across UKWHITEGOODS by accident………great stuff, just what I need 😀
So, as per the title, the back of the fridge compartment is slowly freezing/snowing up and making the food in there icy. Turned the temp right down to no avail. Missus scraped the ice off, (yes plastic scraper!), but it’s come back. Also, it’s stopped making the cow ‘mooing’ noise!
The black fridge freezer is nearly two years old, bought from Elekdirect, £200, tiny dint in the front door but has worked great until the last few weeks.
Been reading this thread on here:
fridge-freezer-forum/beko-cda539fw-frozen-fridge-compartment-t77665.html
Now, I can take a 4.4 Ltr V8 apart but, the mysterious world behind the fridge has me worried 😕 So, what’s the odds on wg100, (from the other thread), and mine being the same problem, and maybe, fix?
Is that coiled bit to do with a thermostat? And what about this ‘thermistor’ thing?
Many thanks for your help.
Forgot to add: The drain hole and tube are clear and the white plastic tray where the drain tube ends on top of the compressor is dry, no water.

Well, after some info from wg100, it seems the PCB swap didn’t fix it. Although he did say it worked for a couple of days and then started freezing up again.
So, maybe it’s the thermistor? Is it worth digging around for that?

I don’t have access to technical here but, I think that’s one of the thermistor kits in that machine and if so, it may be worth replacing it.
IIRC it is well concealed though.

Thanks Kwatt.
If it was the PCB I think I could manage to change that but, with hindsight, I think trying to find and sort this thermistor is beyond me as it does look to be well inside the insulation somewhere, and that thing it’s connected to, well ……..looks like another F/F is dying before it’s time.
Woe is me 🙁
By the way, do you think this could turn out to be a hazard? I mean, with it not defrosting, it must be going full pelt and getting hot down there…………could it be a fire hazard?

It shouldn’t be, no. There are safeties.

If your getting excessive frosting inside the back of the fridge compartment it suggest’s a system fault which is not surprising on that model. Not worth doing anything to it.
