ParticipantCan anybody help please
Our frost free fridge freezer, Beko CDA653FS/1, has an intermittent fault.
Every now & then the compressor & fan both start but only run for about 3 seconds, trying again time after time for over half an hour but never running constantly. Eventually it stops & then later on it runs normally.
Any ideas please? ThanksNovember 29, 2014 at 7:25 pm #422039chubb125

Update: The fridge freezer has now packed up completely, after trying to start all morning it has finally had enough!!
I know this unit has 2 pcb boards, 1 behind a panel on the back & 1 in the fridge light compartment. Does anybody know what either of them do please? Is it possible that one of them has failed causing the machine to pack up?
I could replace both boards if required but I don’t want to waste money on them if it is something else
Any ideas please?November 29, 2014 at 8:22 pm #422040Seamy

Rear one is control board & is most likely the culprit.

Hi Seamy, many thanks for replying. Am I correct in thinking that if it is the control board at fault there will be no power at the compressor? Do you know how I can check please?
Not knowing what the board did, I was thinking it might be the relay on the side of the compressor messing about until it failed.December 2, 2014 at 9:29 am #422042Seamy

Hi,
I need similar help please.
This is my first post although I have found useful info here many times in the past. I have a similar problem, the freezer fan started coming on intermittantly and now the freezer doesnt seem to be holding its temperature. I have a Beko CDA 563 F-2 fridge freezer. Is it likely to be the mainboard? Any way to troubleshoot it, I have a multimeter and Im ok on electronics, or just change out the board?December 22, 2014 at 4:10 pm #422044malcolmt1

Hi all,
Update, I managed to get around the back. Compressor very hot to touch. Left 30 mins, compressor just warm. Comressor turns on for few secs then off, keeps repeating.December 22, 2014 at 4:38 pm #422045SAMURI

Sounds like the compressor is faulty drawing too much power then tripping the compressor overload cut out / Klixon.
Not a cheap or DIY repair.

Thanks Bob,
looking bad, just before xmas! Took of main pcb getting 22k, 45k and 31k off what I guess are thermistors, values seem reasonable. Your explanation seems to make sense. Compressor ran for about 5 mins then back to stop start. Seems like Im looking for a new one. Wont be a Beko, had it less than 2 years. -
