As a newcomer to the site has anyone any ideas on this one please? Fridge freezer is about 3 years old and has stopped freezing as has fridge compartment. Unit is clean at back, now cleared out and defrosted. Fan in freezer on constant. Compressor seems to be running, thermostat I had a quick look at and doesn’t appear stuck as compressor running and also will go open cct when put in spare fridge freezer, then when warming up again ‘clicks on’. Has been left off for hours and then allowed to run for hours but no cooler. One thing I have noticed is fridge is ‘gurgling’ an awful lot even after a long period of time on. No fluid on floor at all, and no visible damage to rear.
Is this one to throw out which I’m reluctant to do as it is fairly new ? or is there any chance of repair? 😕

    ah yes, turkelec compressors

experience suggests its one of 2 things

it could be short of gas, the gurgling would suggest this.. it cant compress what isnt there.. however, if theres no gas, how did it get out of a sealed system ? a leak of course, which could be cured, as long as its not internal

of course, the compressors themselves are well known for there ability to self destruct, weak pumping, faulty valves

    hope this helps

Thanks for the help, reckon it will have to go then. My belief was fridges and freezers were one of the most reliable bits of equipment you can purchase !! Are there any brands that are head and shoulders above others in terms of qulaity but still good value? Once again thanks a million for prompt response on last mail….. ❓

    bosch

    just not the kgn33/34 models

    zanussi tend to be reliable

of course, its down to the individual, its all about space/design rather than cost to be honest, thats probably why you went for beko? bags of room inside, good price

    your call, hope this helps?
