    Hi everyone,

I spent a full evening yesterday cleaning my Beko D533 (non ceramic hob) It’s a POS in my humble opinion but it will do for the time being, had it about 2 years. I removed the cooker door hinges and that’s where the fun began. Que the dreaded rattle of the retaining plates for the screws slipping down inside of it. In the throes of putting that back together today the hob basically fell off when I tilted it. I was left with a long earth wire from the hob with a spade connector at the end and no idea where it goes.

I looked for the cleanest prongs on the connector block (into which the mains wiring goes at the other side) but all attempts to connect here trips the mains. I tried it without the earth connected at all, and it seemed to work perfectly! Now I know enough to know that this isn’t a good thing, and there’s a reason for that wire. As you can see in the attached photo it’s hanging down at the back of it. I can’t get an electrician today and if someone knows for sure where this goes I’d be hugely appreciative!

    Thanks in advance,

    Tony.
