Can you ellaborate on this, does the motor stop?
How do you mean it “cuts out”?
Does it stop with the end light & empty water or check filter lit?
Its possible if it was on a sensor programme with little or no clothing in drum that the sensor bars have not sensed damp clothing and it has just finished the programme (thinking everything is dry).

    hi thanks for your reply
when it cuts out it stops completely ie comes to end of program motor stops and display reads ” end “
it was my original train of thought that as it was empty it simply came to the end of the cycle .
the customer states that it also stops early when full of clothes
I tried it on a timed program empty and it also stopped after approx ten mins
    thanks

Many things you’ll have to check, NTCs, float switch, pump, heater, condenser for blockages.
Time to get out the multi-meter or get a competant person e/g engineer out to look at it.
