ParticipantHi, I have a Beko DE2542 Dishwasher that has suddenly stopped working. I turn the Dishwasher on as normal, I press start and the green WASH light comes on but nothing happens no matter how long you wait. If I press and hold the START/CANCEL button for 3 seconds the WASH and DRY green lights will flash on/off at the same time. I have also unplugged the dishwasher for an hour to reset everything but no use. Whatever I do, I cannot get the dishwasher to start.
There is absolutely nothing in the faults section of the manual describing this fault. The dishwasher is about 1 month old and I know will be covered under warrenty but I am thinking along the lines that it is something silly we are not doing or doing. Any Ideas would be appreciated?June 4, 2011 at 9:33 pm #352890Applianceman2010

In all honesty it could be a number of different things, door switch, outlet pump or PCB 😐

Ah thankyou anyway. I thought there maybe a sequence of buttons top press or something to correct it.

It maybe worth getting an engineer out to have a look at it . As its a washer/Dryer its prob worth a look at….

The same thing happened to me -exactly the same symptoms – and I was able to resolve it by emptying water that had got into the base of the machine. This was achieved by first tipping the machine on it’s back and then putting it on it’s front with a number of towels in close attendance. I was very surprised to find that this did the trick. The question is why did this happen and how can I avoid it happening again?

Stick your ear on the cabinet, lower the better, if you hear a faint humming noise when you press start button it will likely be the drain pump jammed by glass/debris etc.

Wasn’t sure either if he meant a blow dry dishwasher or a washer/dryer.
