Unusual one this, I was called because it was in antiflood mode (nothing unusual there), when testing I found it to be leaking from inside the door which I tracked back to being water getting past the seal at the top of the door and coming down through the door lock hole, as the seal wasn’t damaged I just massaged it back into position which cured the leak. The unusual bit thappens when the machine drains the hot water then refills with the fresh cold water and starts the wash pump again, at this point the rapid internal cooling appears to create a vacuum within the machine as the whole door is suddenly sucked inwards by around 15mm and you can hear air being forced past the seals till the pressure equalises (I am now assuming that this squashed the seal allowing it to leak).
As far as I can see the only vent is the water matrix/metering unit, has this got some form of pressure valve in it? I do see on ASWO that there a part change notification against this part that has been done to “Improve the performance”, is this vacuum the real reason for it>
