I don’t see a lot of these, Fase. There are two regular problems – the seal in the pump fails and floods the base – flood protection system can run the drain pump for hours whilst not advancing the timer.
I’ve had a few NTC failures as well, but the programme will usually clunk round to the end after the allowed heat period.

Participantthanks chris for your reply the the man said it happened before and the engineer done something inside that cured it he said it was air locked can you get at the pump from inside when you take out the filter are the prone to any pipes blocking up the pump you are talking about chris is it the main wash pump that the seal leaks or the empying pump are the 2 seperate pumps is there any way to test the ntc if the are faulty does the case crack on them or any burn marks can the be tested with a meter do you go in from the front or under neath thanks fasetester.

Have a look underneath, the base comes off and everything is get at able????? NTC is a tiny stat clipped to the base of the tub but never had one fail. The drain pump is a sealed Plaset type but the cycling pump shaft seals often leak. I have also found that the softener is not always securely tightened to the tub and also the same for the matrix on the side.
Hope that’s enough to be going on with.

Hi,
Have had 2 airlocks in the matrix and have just emptied it and never been back.
I have never had to just change the pump seal, have always changed complete pump as on other makes the seal can waer the shaft and I would imagine the pump bearings are on the way out too because of the leak, if it is from there. Easy to remove the pump, 5 minutes and check. Not worth the risk if it is.
