Hi, could really use some help! My dishwasher stopped working on New year’s Day. I had turned it on as usual and noticed that it was still making noises well after it should have finished it’s cycle. When I opened the door, there was no water, the tablet had not dropped and the things hadn’t washed. I have washed the filters, even though they were clean already along with the spray arms. Water is flowing to the unit, but then nothing happens. The lights come on and it makes a continous noise but no action. Any idea’s?

It’s probably leaked water into the undertray, the constant noise will be the drain pump running; activated by the flood protection system. Draining the undertray will reset the machine, but obviously the leak must be located and rectified.

An engineer is probably your best bet – it’s an awkward machine to work on. Power off if investigating further.

Stopped doing these under guarantee. Water normally leaks through the motor shaft seal. It sometimes happens on the first use. Cut your losses and get a decent machine ‘cos it will happen again.
