ParticipantHello all,
What a great forum! Bad week for me my washer and dishwasher packed up.
Dishwasher stopped filling/emptying, 2 weeks out of warranty 🙄
Stripped it down and motor/pump is making a squeek noise everytime its asked to do something but not spinning. When i removed it the impeller (sp) is not moving with the rest of the motor 🙁 seems to be a duff motor.
Any advice appreciated? Also any idea where i can get one?

KeymasterHi Spoonz,
If it’s only 2 weeks out try giving the manufacturer a call and see if they will do anything for you as most manufacturers are pretty reasonable about such things, though some are not I will admit.

just called them, and to cut a long story short the answer started with F and ended with off.
Any ideas? How much is a new motor likely to cost?

KeymasterWorth a go and Beko just lost brownie points in my book with that attitude. 🙁
A new motor I’ve no idea for a Beko DW but usually they’d be about £100+. 😕
Dave may be able to give an exact cost.

lol, im hoping dave reads this then!
if its £100 plus, i may aswell just buy a new dishwasher for £180 and get 12 months warranty.

It’s £110 inc VAT plus carriage.
But don’t buy a new dishwasher for £180 as you’ll be facing the same scenario next year 😉
Stick another £150 on top and get a brand that’ll last you a little longer, it’ll be cheaper in the long run and the customer service level will undoubtedly be a little better 😀

Cheers Dave,
Ill look into buying a slightly better one, i knew the beko wouldnt last long when i bought it but 13 months is taking the p1ss a little i think.
Im sure they program them to self terminate at just the right time! Ive gone through 3 washers in the last 6 years aswell, my mum had hers for 18 years 🙁

Just out of interest and at the risk of sounding daft
The motor i removed looks a lot like this

couldnt i just stick this in if all the pipes met? would do a job wouldnt it? might need a few mods though 😆

They all look a lot like that.
Your choice, if you buy it and attempt to fit it it’s a lot of money wasted 😉
I would put the money towards a better dishwasher in all honesty.
Dave.
