    Hi there,

I recently purchased a beko dishwasher (DFN05R10W) 2nd hand and have had problems getting it to fill with water.

Initially I thought it was the water inlet valve so I replaced this which resulted in one successful wash. However the problem then returned. I then tried tilting the machine at 45 degrees. Some water came out of the left hand side of the machine and this resulted in two successful washes before the problem returned.

I have been trying to locate the float switch to see if this is where the fault lies however I have not been able to find it. I would really appreciate some help resolving this issue. Any ideas are welcome.

    All the best,

    Ben

    Hi Dave

Thanks for getting back to me. Sorry for the delay in responding. I think I’ve found the float, am I right in saying that it’s attached to the bottom panel? (see photo no.1)

This evening I removed the inlet pipe and some compressed air came out. I also tried tipping it back 45 degrees but have not been able to get any water to run out since the first time I did so. I then ran the dishwasher again and it sounded as though water was rushing in but there was a spluttering sound as it did so. It then seems to be doing the same as before with very little water in the machine.

I’ve attached a few photos of the dishwasher to help explain the problem in the link below. I’ve checked everywhere in the underside of the machine and can’t find any loose pipes, however when removing the lower front panel below the door, I noticed that the felt behind the door is very wet but I’m not sure where the water is coming from. Could it be a loose door seal?

Another thing that occurred to me is that what appears to be the salt reservoir has a brown filling of some kind in it (see photos)? I’m wondering if this could be the issue?

    Thanks for your help.

Yes thats working fine. Ive unscrewed the water pipe from the machine and ran water through. There seems to be plenty of water pressure.

just double check the float sw is operating properly

think it cuts off water if its stuck

also check the wires from the valve are continous up to the timer. we get a lot of wire breaks in dishwasher doors at the bottom

Yeah I’ve checked it and it moves up and down no problem and I can hear it clicking.

I’ll have a look at the wires tomorrow. Where abouts is the timer located? Is there any chance you could label it on the photo of the dishwasher base that I sent through?

Thanks again. Really appreciate the help. I’ve been trying to get this sorted for weeks!

timer is in the door which is why it could be a broken wire in the door

    Hi Dave

Had a good look and I can’t see any broken wires in the door. The felt inside the door was very wet but only at the bottom. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Ben
