ParticipantHi all,
I have a beko d3421fs dishwasher that has suddenly decided to start playing up. When you set the cycle and turn it on the dial begins to turn instantly but doesn’t actually carry out a wash at all.
It normally takes a while to complete the cycle but it currently goes all the way around in a minute or two but does nothing except make the noise as though its working.Any suggestion/diagnosis is appreciated.

Hi again,
Does anyone have any idea of what the problem could be?
This washing by hand is doing nothing for my skin, even with Fairy!! 😆Thanks

The dial clunk rounds to indicate that there is a fault. If the other noise you can hear is the drain pump running, the undertray may well be flooded and the flood protection system is operating. The main circulation pump is a shocker for leaks on these.
Power off if investigating.

Unplug it, put some towels down, lean it back slowly and gently. If water comes out, there’s your problem. Getting the tray off usually involves removing every other panel first.
If you’re not sure how to proceed, you must get pro help – click the link below for a UKW engineer in your area.

Trouble is, that was the obvious one! From here, it’s a question of working through the machine component by component. Heater and temperature control circuits would be my immediate targets. Any single failed component can cause this, as the machine performs a self-diagnostic check prior to running the programme. You need a multimeter and the knowledge to use it correctly I’m afraid.

Hi,
the flow meter can be responsible for this condition.
The side chamber where it is situated clogs and prevents the timer from starting a programme.
It’s not a DIY job, call an engineer, it can be removed and flushed out (usually).
How to check.
As I said it’s not a DIY job, but depending on your abilities here’s a clue
If the appliance could fill, the timer would not motor round to stop, and it would commence washing, untill it needed to fill again.Kevin

Thanks Guys, it does seem as though the water is struggling to get in to be honest. I will have a look and probably make the call anyway.
Thanks again,
Mike
