Hi everyone – I was wondering if anyone could give some advice.

I have a Beko DRCS68W tumble dryer that I cannot get to work properly.

It was spinning but not heating or drying so I followed the instructions on numerous youtube videos and help sites and ended up changing the heating element (which was broken in two) and the thermostats.

Now when the machine starts – it turns as normal and the heater turns on as normal however it only stays on for about a minute or so before cutting off. The dryer continues to operate as normal but no heat remains. If I restart the cycle it doesnt heat up again until i press the reset switch on the rear of the thermostat. I have thoroughly cleaned all fluff away and was wondering what my next option was.

I have read about a front thermostat but I am at the stage now where, if I buy more parts I would be as well to buy a new dryer.

    Any advice?

    Thanks in advance

if the heater is over heating so

1 are you operating it with the back on ?

2 have you checked and cleaned the condensor ie can you see light all through it

both the controlling thermostats on the unit are thermistors that can be checked by a multimeter

    Hi

    Thanks for the reply
Initially I was checking the operation without the back on to see if I could see the heater working – Then I guessed that this didnt allow heat to enter the dryer so put it back on but it doesnt make any difference – on or off it cuts out and has to be reset

The condenser is spotless – cleaned out completely.

the cutout is detecting high temperatures above the heater. if you are getting this there is only a couple of reasons

1 air flow The airflow across the heater is restricted causing overheat

2 element control where the element is not turned off as the heat rises in the dryer. this can be caused by the front thermistor or the main pcb. either way you would feel the excessive heat inside the drum

    Hi Dave

    Thanks for the reply.

So change front thermistor and take sides off machine and investigate circulation areas?

Just to follow up (as it does my head in when people ask for advice and then never come back!)

I changed the front thermistor – opened up back panel – removed any fluff and stuff and when i put it back together, turned it on for an hour….. when I opened the door I could have heated the house with the heat that came from it.

    Thanks everyone for your advice!

    Cheers guys!

    Hi

I have a Beko DRV62W with the same problem. I have replaced the heating element, which has sensors built into the part. I have reset the sensor on the heating element, and reset the dryer (press & hold start for a few seconds). The dryer heats initially, then you can hear a click and switches the heat off. The dryer will just then run with no further heat being put out.
Is there a front thermistor on this model? And if so, where can I find it?!

Thanks for any help anyone can offer 🙂
