i have had a few of these and also the vented type snapping belts. Remove the drum and check front seal, the ones i have repaired were getting jammed somewhere on the front seal. The vented type i gave up on as it snapped 3 belts in a week, i removed drum twice and found no reason for it-just lost money on that one and it has put me off repairing them.

Hi Bob can you send me the tech info, i had one snapping belts, i removed the drum the last time and replaced the bearing pads as they looked like the drum might have been jamming on the duct on a large load, i’d like to be sure i know what is causing it cheersJJ

according to the technical info if the belt snaps then the drum and front felt bearing have to be changed as well? might as well scrap it-if i told a customer i would have to change these parts as well they would think i was trying to scam them!

Normally if the felt has gone it leaves a nasty sticky residue on the front of drum, also if it has cut through the bearing slides theres plastic burn’t onto drum lip. If this is not removed or cleaned off the drum, it will catch on new felt & break belts again. New appliances now have a sewn joint in the felt & a more rounded front edge on drum, the belt has a tensioner on motor to prevent snapping belts.
