    Beko DRCS76S

The dryer while being used made a popping sound and emitted a small amount of smoke. The dryer seemed dead with not even the interior light working. I had a good look around and saw that the interference suppressor was split and had sooty marks on the top. I bought a replacement from beko online parts and fitted it tonight.

The new part is slightly different (not the yellow type one that I have also seen). From what I can see the two live wires go the one side and the two neutrals to the other.

I replaced the 13A fuse with a new one, but nothing works and no lights come on at all. I checked the red reset button on the heater but that was OK.

Any help folks. What else can I check. I am reluctant to trash the machine as it is almost new condition and has been faultless.

Checked the voltage with a multimeter and I have power all the way to the on/off switch but I don’t know how to check anything after that – i.e. the circuit board. I had hoped there might be some internal fuse that I could change.

Any help would be great – thanks
