I purchesed a new Beko DRVS62W yesterday and I’m tempted to take it back. The problem is the sensor they built into it. Supposed to sense when the clothes are dry and turn off the dryer (energy sever), great idea in theory, however it thinks the clothes are dry when they are far from it. I end up having to reset it every 10 mins until the load finally dries. The last load I had to keep getting up and resetting it about 12 times.

What I’m wondering is if there is any way possible to over-ride this feature? Like I said, I thinks its a great concept, but I would like to be able to put a load on to dry and not have to tend to it until the load is well and truly dry.

    take it back!!!

    do yourself a favour

the paddles are all wrong, and tumble the clothes towards the back of the dryer, and the clothes, simply dont dry as it switches off prematurely

    theyre ok on timed dry

the only cure weve found is to tilt it forward slightly so the clothes move forward on a tumble

    no other cure im afraid

    hope that helps

Yes, I’m thinking about bringing it back tomorrow. Hopefully Curry’s wont give us a hard time about it. I would like to exchange it for the White Knight 44AW. I chose the Beko over the White Knight thinking it had a better reputation, but after reading online reviews I see the White Knight is much higher regarded.

Just to update, I took the Beko back to Currys today and they exchanged it with no hassle. I opted to exchange it for the White Knight 44AW which retailed at the same price. The White Knight also benefits from much better online reviews. I wish I had checked the reviews before came home with that awful Beko, live and learn.
