    A bit of help please.

A friend of mine has the above DW and I had a look at it this afternoon.

Fault: Not washing correctly. Bottom arm moves top one doesn’t.

I stripped everything out of the cabinet, pipes, filters, arms etc – all now immaculately clean but there was no obvious blockages.Flapper on the upper arm works. Arms are clear.

The wash motor does not sound right at all. Forcing it to work with the door open you can see how pathetic the pressure it.
The machine is well and truly rammed in and will be a nightmare to get out. 🙁

Does this machine have a diverter motor? It has a half load option. I was wondering if it could be the diverter motor stuck half open? I’m very sure it’s the motor. The effort to get the machine out means I really only want to do this once.

There is no diverter valve. It could be a foreign object in the wash pump – you really need to dismantle to find out.

Thanks stratfordgirl. I know it needs checking but it’s a nightmare to get out. Ordinarily, I’d of asked the customer to stump the cost of me checking. I’m just trying to avoid prying it out, twice. I’m more sure it’s the wash motor.

I knew from the start this was likely to a blockage. I just wasn’t looking forward to the removal. I bit the bullet, fought for ages and eventually got it out. Lots of huffing and puffing, cursing and swearing under my breath.

Pulled the wash motor out. The impeller looked ok but a bit strange. It turned out a piece of very thick heavy plastic has molded itself to the same shape as the impeller. Obviously aided by the heat. It took ages to prize it all off.

One happy customer, and well paid me.
