The “coating” is almost certainly burned on grease 😉

Seen it loads of times – customer complaint “my oven is peeling/smoking etc…”

The Sunday roast fat was spilled then 😆

its a thin top enamel coat.

they do crack on these quality cookers.
they are not repairable or replaceable.

doesnt do any harm forget it and keep using it.

they wont pay as it is not effecting the oven ie electrical/mechanical breakdown.

i had a call for d&g on a fridge freezer which wants a new door as the lining had broken were the shelves attach told by them that they will not auth any repair as the door is a non functional part ie not covered as it is not mechanical or electrical its a cosmetic part.

the same i fear the same that they will tell you but give it a go as all insurance are quite happy to take your money and not payout for any silly reason.
