ParticipantHello folks!
I’am wondering if any of you kind folk could solve a problem for me?
I have a Beko DVC 6631 cooker, however there seems to a problem with the oven.Being the type of fella that like to fiddle with things…I thought I’d fix it myself. So off to Ebay I went armed with the model number and ordered an element. Not quite the quick fix that I thought it would be! It seems that the problem was not the element as I had assumed (The missus said the oven had stopped heating 😆 )
There seems to be NOTHING happening in the oven department at all,no light,no fan and no heat despite fitting the new element)
I did swap the selector switch (I think that’s what it’s called..the brown plastic thing behind the knob)with the grill selector, and it worked on the grill…so that’s that ruled out as a problem.
Any ideas what else I can check, test or change to solve the problem?
All ideas/suggestions appreciated.January 9, 2014 at 8:07 pm #407441Andy jones

There’s a toc controlling the oven. That’s almost certainly the problem

This..

That’s a problem with any number of Ebay sellers and some others, not enough information. As well as taking the time to diagnose from the get go. 😉
Don’t beat yourself up over it though, loads of people do the same or similar.

Have you set a time on the oven timer?
If the Timer is just displaying zero and no time is set the main oven will not work.
If you set a time and it is not working it will be the thermal overload cut out NTC faulty.
On Beko ovens this is normally a long wire with a thermal cut out in it runs from the switch to the element and clips to the back of the oven cavity.
On your model it may have a separate cut out attached to the oven cavity .
If the oven was making a noise but no heat before you replaced the element then you have not set a time on the clock.

Thank you all very much for taking the time to reply. 😀
I’am going to try the clock first, then if that doesn’t cure the problem I’ll try the thermostat.
I’ll keep you posted. 8)
