ParticipantHi
I have a Beko DW603_SS dishwasher which is about 6 years old. Today it stopped working. I wasn’t there when it did but the wife described a “pop” and then it stopped. She said the plates were clean, and the bottom was full of clear water. The machine is completely dead. It took down the kitchen ring main when it went and I thought (hoped) it may be a fuse in the plug, but alas no, that was fine. The ring main was reset and now the dishwasher is dead. No lights on the door panel nothing. The ring main remains on, so the dishwasher isn’t pulling the down now either. I couldn’t find my multimeter and couldn’t get one with it being Easter so the nice man from Amazon is bringing me one on Monday, so I can have a proper poke around then.
So questions please.
Does the appliance have an internal fuse? If not Is there anything else that could be responsible for the pop?
My plan once I’ve got a meter is to firstly follow the flex and ensure the power is getting in, and up to the on /off switch.
I’ll also check the integrity the wiring loom round the door
I don’t know if the water was hot or cold when it failed so will check the heating element,
Is there anything else that may be an obvious thingto look at please.Thanks….

ParticipantCan’t see an edit function so a second post ..sorry.. Please read the above post first to get the full picture.
Now the house is quiet I’ve just depressed the on off switch on at the left hand side of the door and about a second later I can hear a very faint click coming from below the programme selector buttons on the right hand side of the door. Is this a small contactor pulling in and holding? When the on/off switch is released , about a second after there is the same noise. I’m assuming this is the small contact dropping out as it is de energised. None of the red leds on the programme selector switch illuminate, neither does this action trip the kitchen ring main….I dont know what all this means but I’m hoping someone will
Ps I’ve drained all the water from the reservoir below the filter, will this cause any problems if it totally dries out??
Thanks agianApril 5, 2021 at 9:25 am #476093electrofix
Moderatorthink the first thing is look at the timer and look for damage

ParticipantCured it.. As suggested looked at the timer module and it had got a wee bit hot… Sourced a new one off ebay for a tenner and the dishwasher seems to be doing its stuff….. Thanks…
