ParticipantWe have woken up this morning to find that the dishwasher (Beko DWD 5410s) that we set running as normal before we went to bed has not cleaned the dishes, leaving a clump of soggy powder in the bottom and a lot of dirty dishes. When I have tried to run it again this morning it sounds very wrong… the filling/heating noise starts and I can hear water trickling inside for a few minutes, but then the water stops and sound changes to a low hum and doesn’t change. At this point a slight burning smell starts to come from the back of the machine (I assume the back as it can only be smelled in the adjacent cupboard under the sink where the pipework enters). When I stop it and open the door the bottom is full of water, which drains away fine when I cancel the programme.
I’ve checked the pipes, and the filters and spray arms (which were both thoroughly cleaned last week) but am at a loss as to what to do next. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Sounds like the circulation pump motor is jammed or seized.

Thanks… is that possibly repairable or am I looking at a replacement motor? I’ve no idea how serviceable these things are 😳

Repairable if you can get whatever is causing the jamming removed, if its seized the motor may need replacing.

ParticipantThanks! We’ve found the circulation pump but are at a loss as to how to remove the white housing at the top to get in to check for anything jamming the impeller. We’ve got the hose off by releasing the spring clamp and can see the impeller, which doesn’t turn when pushed, but can’t get any further in to clear it. Does anyone have any hints?

If you look carefully you will see theres a nut holding the impellor on the shaft, you’ll need to put a socket on it to loosen it, think its left hand thread to remove. Look at edge of pump housing you can see clips that hold the housing in position on aluminium motor, these have to be released to get it off.
:lesson: BE CAREFUL, there may be a sharp object like glass/crockery shards in pump !Circulation pump motor spare part is here if required :-
