Hi Folks,
I’ve been trying to sort out an issue on my girlfriend’s Beko DWD5411W dishwasher. About a month ago we left it running overnight, and she came downstairs to get a drink and noticed it was still running and smelled very hot. She switched it off and left it, and the next day we looked at it, and did a trial run, and all seemed fine. A few weeks later it got stuck trying to drain again. It’s done this about three times now.
Initially I cleaned the filters inside the machine, and did an inspection of the drain pump, then re-assembled it. All seemed ok for a few days. Then the same thing – it just seems to get stuck draining.
I’ve tried putting a couple of litres of water into the machine, and I can confirm that it drains ok. And having inspected the drain pump, it rotates ok (albeit you can feel the magnetic resistance as you rotate the impeller). Not broken vanes, no food debris etc.
So I’m wondering if there might be stuck relay perhaps? I’m not sure where to look next. I’m a design engineer, so don’t mind taking stuff apart, but I don’t want to start randomly dismantling things without some guidance.
Thank you in advance!
Nik
