Hello, My Beko F/F has stopped working. Compressor kicks in for 5 seconds then the relay or something clicks it off. This does it on a cycle every 3-4 mins.

Could it be the relay needs replacing.

    Beko model is GENV220S

Pretty sure it is the PTC Relay

Beko PTC Relay 8EA 19E61 Is the part I need, but now they are no longer available. Anyone know of any alternatives that would fit my model?

This is what I need but can’t find one anywhere.

It is more likely to be the compressor faulty not a cheap repair.

    Ok thanks.

I am hoping to try the cheaper route first by buying a Relay. Just cannot find a part that will fit

If the compressor runs for a short time it will not be the relay.

If the relay was faulty it would not run or make any noise.

It runs for a short time then cuts out after a few seconds as the compressor is drawing too much current and then cuts out on the thermal cut out above the relay.

If you have a fault with the cut out or relay then the compressor will not run.

You can get universal relays but I would save your money as it will be the compressor faulty and if the new relay did work and run this would be short lived as it would weaken the thermal cut out and fail again.

You will find if you leave it on and it keeps running the compressor for a short time it will get Hot due to the windings overheating.

This shows it is getting power from the relay.

I think I will take your advice and buy a new compressor.

Are they Easy to fit by a reasonably mechanically minded
    Person. I.e. Myself?

In a word no, you would need to find a local refrigeration engineer .
It is a specialised job that requires specialised tools

That sounds more like a compressor failure to be honest, it’s classic symptoms of that failed.
