    Hi All,
Perhaps someone could tell an appliance ignorant if I have a problem please.

I bought a new freezer noted above. It is a frost free model; never had one before.

Following delivery and siting it, I let it stand for two hours before switching on.

I set it at the minimum setting, then left it for about two hours before filling it with frozen goods. It was about -15 degrees when I filled it.

After another seven hours, the fan is still running and I can hear the refrigerant (I think) but I’m not sure I can hear the compressor running. It is now about -18 degrees, but the fan is still running and also when I turn the temp switch right down to nil, there is no click or cut-out of the fan or compressor.

    Is this normal?

Yes you wont hear a click as it has no thermostat as it’s electronic and being frost free they tend to run a lot more often then a traditional freezer would so you need not worry.

    OK……..MAny thanks…….

Now all I have to do is figure out what setting to have the stat at when its in a room that can drop low in temperature……

….I wish my wife could have stuck with her old chest freezer — she even made me buy a new fridge freezer combi —- and a new microwave!!
