Beko Fridge freezer- help me please!

Hi, Can anyone help me with some tech advice, I have a Beko fridge freezer 4 years old, the fridge part won’t reach under 8 degrees which means my food keeps going off, the freezer part works fine at -16 so after some research I orders a new thermostat for it which my hubby fitted but it hasn’t changed anything, even when we put the temp dial to max it doesn’t improve go any lower than 8, I rang beko who suggested doing the thermostat and said if it’s not that it must be the compresser? But would the freezer work if the compresser had gone? And if it is that would it be worth fixing it, and would it be worth it? I really don’t want to have to buy a new fridge freezer as this one is in ex condition, apart from it not been quite cold enough!

The model number is CDA 563FS -2

Any help would be really appreciated

It sounds like the compressor is not pumping / worn or it is low on refrigerant.

Not a DIY job and not a cheap repair.

Thanks for your reply bob, I think we may have fitted wrong part as when I gave had another look at thermostat replacements they have long capillary wires, the one we fitted did not and just slotted into the light housing?! We can’t see where the ones with the wires and capillary wires would go? Does it go in the light housing somewhere? We can’t see one like that to replace?

Yours doesn’t have a mechanical thermostat. It is electronic. Small pcb in fridge to select temp. larger control pcb at the rear and sensors in fridge and freezer.

The fault you have is almost certainty a system fault or a compressor issue unfortunately.
