Hi guys: I don’t normally do Refridgeration stuff so need some advice please, just had a good friend on the phone & her mums Frost Free Freezer has started to de-frost with the Red light flashing continually. Unfortunately I Don’t have a model number yet.
Just wondered if there are any common causes other than Stat or Compressor?
Just had some more info from customer: Apparently before de-frosting the Freezer Iced up quite heavily.

    Thanks in advance: Andy

Check to see if it is the defrost timer stuck.

The timer is in a small plastic box at the back near the compressor normaly on the left hand side at the back.

There is a small hole in the box this sometimes has a blank cap in it that can be pulled out then turn the Knob inside with a flat screwdriver.

It will click back on and the compressor should start.

If this works you will need to fit a new timer. ( Simples )

Hi Samuri: Cheers for the reply mate, went there this morning & the Freezer is doing it’s thing & back down to Minus 12 inside. It’s kept in an outside shed along with the Washing Machine & Dryer and no heat, when i got there they had a pipe leak in the shed. So with water everywhere I decided to leave it & told them to let me know what happens over the next few days.
