    Hi all,
Newbie here so pls bear with me.

I have a BEKO Fridge Freezer (F/F), Frost Free, model CA5411FFW. The fridge compartment is on the top. Its a free standing unit in our living room as I have no space for it in the kitchen. Its in a well ventilated area.

The compressor is always on, I bought this F/F in Jan 2013 off ebay and the compressor has always been running. The radiator for the refrigerant at the back of the F/F get warm but only the compressor gets hot.

Inside, the Freezer gets soo cold, it builds up ice and gets blocked up. The fridge gets soo cold that water droplets form only on the back of the fridge compartment on the inside and then they turn to ice. We’ve never had food gone bad, we keep fresh fruit and veg in the fridge.

Could you tell me if this operation of my F/F is normal? It’s supposed to be frost free so why is the freezer getting clogged up with ice?

In an attempt to fix the problems myself, I replaced a bi-metal thermometer which is in the freezer comparment sitting on the cooling matrix. This didn’t turn the compressor off, it still wants to get colder. Then I replaced the thermostat which is located in the roof of the fridge compartment, I fed as much of the thermocouple wire as I could, but still the F/F wants to get cold.

Lastly I replaced the defrost timer, it’s situated outside the F/F on the back on the left of the compressor. The new one is all electronic and the old one was mechanical, the old defrost timer has been superseded. All parts bought from BEKO direct.

So still the F/F wants to get colder and colder until I manually switch off the unit from the mains. I hear gurggling sounds of the refrigerant which reading elsewhere on this forum is normal. When I switch on the F/F 5 seconds later, the Freezer fan turns on but no compressor. When it gets warmer in the F/F, then the compressor turns on, and stays on for what seems like forever.

I have always kept the thermostat at position 1, even with the new thermostat, so it shouldn’t want to get colder and colder.

So, is this normal for the compressor to stay on, i dont think so, especially when I saw my elec bill!! Also, what could be the problem? Lastly, it is easier to buy a new F/F?

Thanks for your help, sorry for the ong post but I thought I should give you all the info. I have serial numbers, my F/F was made in March 2008.
