ParticipantHi, looking for some help with my beko model number beko gnev221apb i came down this morning to see an error light showing in Red, and the freezer has cooled, and some freezer stuff has defrosted quite a bit, it says error, but searched the web and cannot find an answer to this, i’ve taken the back off and everything seems working, there isa fan, it does work, but not sure how fast it should spin, any help or checks to do would be great, thanks

Moderatoryou say the freezer has cooled when in fact you mean warmed up
this is quite a complex unit but first what temperatures are on the display for the fridge and freezer ?

Hi Dave, Thanks for the reply, and yes in fact you’re correct, it has wormed, the Temperature i have set on the freezer is 24 on the freezer 6 is and the fridge is, the fridge seems fine, but the freezer is warmer, even though it’s been set to 24, temp setting, things have certainly began to defrost, i have taken the panel off at the rear of the unit, and can’t see any obvious signs of anything, there is a cooling type fan, a white one, it spins, but doesn’t look to be going amazing fast, but is spinning. thanks

Moderatorfan does not need to go fast, speed means noise and thats not what they want.
does the display give you the temperatures inside the unit now? i know you can set a temp but some have a temp display that tells you the temps in real time
what i am trying to figure out is, Is th unit aware the temps have risen or does it still think things are ok. if the temp in the freezer is -1 but the unit thinks it -16 then we have a sensor problem or a board fault

ParticipantHi Dave, and the Temperature display only shows the Temperature you have set from the outside, it doesn’t show any internal temperature, drop or otherwise, which is a shame, it would help, i do get a buzzing noise, and then after a while, a sort of clunk click noise, then it all goes quite, i have been in the back as i said, there is a round pot, that hums, it get quite hot, and there is also a square radiator type thing, that get a little warm on one side. is there another way of telling, apart from a thermometer.

Moderatoryou need to find out how and for that you need an engineer with Beko tech access.
there are service modes on a lot of modern appliances to test components and assist fault finding
did a quick google search but all i can find is the owners manualDave
