ParticipantHi,
The freezer fan stopped but was sort of working if you gave it a push start, stripped the freezer back panel section down to access the fan, found it had the melted the plastic cover a bit, replaced the fan with a new one, and it worked for a day then stopped , however insterted the old freezer fan to test if it was the fan power supply, the old one worked, so it was the new fan that failed.
So had a look at the chiller fan, it was not working and had stopped working a long time ago, ( this I know ) once more changed the chiller fan.
Here is the problem, when you diconnected the fridge and then later power it up, the fridge always paused and went throught a ” system check ” the fans would run for 5 seconds and the fridge pump would run for 5 seconds, guessing as a boot up test for techs, then run as normal.
The problem I have is the chiller fan, on boot up it will run , but will not turn off, the fault maybe the air sensor ( located at the right side of the chiller ) or the control board probably located at the back of the fridge. Not sure where the tempertaure sensor is located , but guessing its encapsulated in the foam in the back. And not even sure there are two sensors in each section. Anway the chiller is now running at about -5 to -10, so I am leaning toward to a new control board replacement , but not sure. The pump is not runing all the time.
So what the best fault finding tests to use to locate the exact fault? , or to save all the hassle just replace the air senser probe and the control module? or is it the embeded sensor ? if that even exists
Wish I had come across this site a few weeks ago, well at least I can buy my part here now all in one place.
Thx in advance for any ideas or help.
