We have had the BEKO LC120W fridge for 18 months and have recently noticed a strange smell – like milk that has gone off. We have cleaned it out and the drain at the back seems to be clear, although a little water is leaking out of the outside rear of the fridge. The fridge is still cold, but a relative said he thinks the smell is caused by the gas leaking and we should get a new fridge! I am now concerned – do you think it is a gas leak or a blocked drain or something else? Any advice on how to go about sorting the problem would be gratefully received!
HAVE YOU CHECKED THE DOOR SEAL UNDER THE BOTTOM SHELF AS WHEN MILK IS SPILT THE CUSTOMER ONLY CLEANS THE SHELF.
TAKE THE SHELF OUT AND YOU WILL SEE THE DOOR SEAL ON THE DOOR,JUST PULL THE SEAL OFF AND YOU WILL SEE A CRUSTY PALE FLAKES TAKE A SNIFF.WIPE AND WASH DOWN WITH AN ANTIBACTERIAL WASH LIKE DETOX MILTON STERALISNG SOLUTION.
We have cleaned the fridge really thoroughly. The smell is coming from the water that is coming from the back of the fridge. If it is the drain that is blocked does anyone know the best way to unblock it?
