    Hi all

We have an old Beko (c 10 yrs) dual oven cooker model BDVG592S that started misbehaving a couple of days ago.
The bottom oven wouldn’t light but you could hear the ignition sparking. I took a look and it seemed to be that the spark current was shorting across two wires before it reached the spark plug itself. There are two wires, one bare and one insulated (brown). I disconnected the oven from the mains and moved the bare wire away from the insulated wire to stop the arcing and now the oven works. I just need someone in the know to let me know if this is OK or if we need some kind of repair to ensure safe operation?
    Thanks

its not dangerous but it sounds like you may need a new wire at some point as the insulation has broken down
