    Hi,

    I need help.

The cooker has been unused for 6 months. I now go to use it, however, the oven comes on, but does not stay on. As soon as you release the switch, it goes off. I not sure whether to replace the Thermo Coupler or whether it is the something else.

    Can you help please

    Thanks

Legally this must only be repaired by a Corgi registered engineer, please try the repairs@ link below for one or the Corgi website here:

can you also tell me where I can get a technical manual for the cooker or download it for free ??

You will not be able to get a “manual” as you mean, at best you’ll get a parts list and a blow-out diagram. Maybe a wiring schematic if you’re really lucky.

By-passing anything is highly inadvisable normally, on gas it’s a total no-no and your brother should know better if he’s CORGI.

He’s not bypassing it !!!!!! – he says that he believes it may be the Thermostat, but he is not sure – he said the bypass screw (or something) is in the thermostat

It’s almost certainly the thermocouple. The gas valve in a domestic cooker should almost never have to be touched or adjusted.
