Hi I have a Beko / flavel TD162 W dryer . The belt broke so I replaced it yesterday , however when i opened it the drum was actually seized so I thought the back bearing but no it was fine . The front of the drum that runs on plastic with a felt seal was actually where it was seized , I removed the drum and when I refitted it it turned fine so i put on the new belt but it has snapped again after only been used twice and the drum is seized at the front again. There appears to be 4 wedge like blocks at the top of the housing that the drum runs on could ( Are these brakes ) or used to align the drum could one of these be causing the problem.

They are slide bearings, they may need replacing if damaged. Front felt normally needs replaced if repetitive belt breakages happen. Not the easiest of jobs, perhaps you may need to get an engineer to look at it as it could prove costly breaking belts if it’s not done properly.
