have changed a few belts on beko tumble driers but had one that lasted 1 day and it snapped again, went back took drum completly out found no reason for the belt to snap so put another belt on, it snapped 1 day after, the belt had burnt through by the motor spinning round but the drum not. could find no reason for the drum to keep sticking-front seal ok and rear seal ok. anybody else had a problem with beko driers with the belts snapping as i am now a bit worried about doing any more of these
the problem is the front seal, when the dryer is on and hot it softens the bonding glue which leaks onto the drum front face, at the end of the cycle it cools and sticks the drun to the seal, next load in and the drum is siezed or very tight and the belt get burnt by the motor pulley, there is a modified seal and drum available. will need the model number for the correct parts.
ok thanks-i have written it off now but handy to know if i get another beko t/d with the belt snapped it will need new drum, belt and front seal-does not seem worth it as cost of new drum will be too much
