Hello!
I have a freestanding beko freezer. Model TZDA 523 S.
It only freezes when we switch on the boost setting.
If the boost is off, the freezer just gradually warms up. The red warning light does not come on, it just does nothing but get warmer and warmer.
If however we press the boost button, the freezer kicks into action and freezes – all the way down to minus30 quite happily.
If we then turn the boost off, it gradually warms up all the way until it is above freezing.
Could anyone help explain what is wrong? Might it be the thermostat?
It is 10 years old and so does not owe us anything, but if I can fix it, I would prefer to do that than simply get rid of it.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give!
Cheers
Steve

Sounds like a faulty thermostat.

if its a mechanical thermostat then part no you need is

4852180985

Many thanks Dave and Samuri,

I am struggling to find that part number – any idea where I should look? Googling brings up a polish website and a german site which does not deliver to the UK. Or any idea whether any other replacements would do? Bekospares dot co dot uk seems to suggest “Beko Fridge Thermostat Ranco K59-L2700” but that does not seem to have quite the same connections – there looks to be one missing.

Thanks again
Steve

email the site shop as they may have more idea
but

from what i can see old stat has terminal 3 4 6 and 8

new stat has 3 4 and 6

from the wiring diagram if you connect the wires from 8 and 3 on the same terminal (3) , all the others the same it should function

hopefully someone will confirm but thats what it looks like to me

Dave
