As is typical with these things, 13 months from the delivery date, the washing machine doesn’t work, no warning, just no power and no reaction to any controls.
I’ve checked the plug & fuse, checked the socket, all OK.
I’ve taken the lid off & checked that there is power arriving to the mains capacitor – this is fine & there are no burn marks.
the only other thing I have done, is check the PCB to see if anything stands out
1. There is (in a few different places) some white marks on some of the soldered pins, not sure why this is the case, or whether it is causing an issue & should be cleaned off
2. there are 3 capacitors, 2 of them – the large black one & C33 – one of the smaller blue ones have continuity, the other blue one (C17) does not have any continuity when checked with a multimeter. I’m therefore assuming that the 2 with continuity are busted.
So I wanted to try to fix it before calling an technician, as that is guarranteed to be over a £100 in Essex, and its harsh for a washing machine that’s 13months old.
Does any one have a clue as to what to do? any suggestions. If not, I will have to bow to the pressure from the better half to sink more money into it. Alternatively, I could buy a new PCB…
Images are of front & back of the PCB showing the 3 capacitors.
