ParticipantHi, I hope someone knows what might be wrong here!
I just bought a brand new washing machine, it’s a BEKO WM 5100W. I removed all packaging, all the bolts from the back, the stabilizer block underneath. After connecting the water hose I made sure the water was switched on. After plugging the machine in and attaching the drain hose under the sink I did a test run on an empty machine. The water didn’t drain and I had to manually drain the whole machine by switching it off which released the door and then I could scoop the water out with cup and drain the last bit by releasing the emergency drain at the bottom of the machine.
I then realised I hadn’t removed the blue cap in the drain pipe! This issue fixed everything should seemingly be ok?
The power is on, I haven’t touched the water inlet since that worked fine during the test run. But now that I tried to use the machine for the first time with some sheets in it (not exceeding maximum load weight) the machine does not start up at all. The power light is ON and the light for “Ready” is lit. I want to wash a 60 cotton load but turning the dial to just spin/drain also does nothing. The machine is still and silent without any notion of starting to fill with water! The door is properly closed but I can open and close it as if the washing programme door lock has not kicked in at all (given no programme is in progress maybe that’s normal but otherwise how do I check the mechanism is functioning?). I put the washing powder into the drum instead of the drawer, would this at all be able to filter through and clog the water inlet!?
Please help! My kitten pooped on the sheets so I really need to wash them…!

I had tried the reset function before but tried it again exactly as you said and no luck! What can be wrong?

Well this is embarrassing… I somehow managed to wrongly think to use the power on/off button as Start, so I never actually pressed Start! Duh! I just used the start/pause button to reset Lol omg I’m so dim this takes the biscuit. The machine is now a-washing and a-spinning and hopefully with the drain cap removed it shall also be a-draining shortly!
