My Beko washing machine is filling up with water and emptying fine and the timer is clicking/making all the right noises, but the drum fails to turn at all during a wash cycle or spin on a spin cycle.

I read a post lower down with a similar problem.

Would a check on the brushes be the first place to look here?

    Thanks.Mark

    Yep, that’s a good starting point 🙂

Pull the plug first please :zap:

Took the brushes out and they were indeed worn down, not as much as I would have thought but still only 6 or 7mm left.

Gave a quick clean and put them back on and the WM is working again now, though I will probably have to buy a new set fairly soon.

If it has stopped once, the brushes are on their limit. Stop using it and get the new brushes now, before you cook the armature!

An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should get things moving for you. Dave will need to know whether the motor fitted is made by FHP or Arcelik – the name is usually on the label on the motor.
