We bought our daughter a WM5101 just over a year ago as a 3-year stopgap (she was at teacher training college and neither she nor we had any spare money) and it has died.

As far as I can ascertain a fridge on the same mains failed dramatically and caused a power surge to the washer. All wiring and supply-side fuses are ok, and I’ve traced good mains to the on side of the on/off switch where it goes down to a white plastic/metal unit like a wagon wheel biscuit mounted halfway down from the top to the right of the front panel.

Without dismantling more I cannot either unmount this unit or see anything more about it, but as none of the panel idiot lights work – and the machine is unresponsive – I surmise this unit is a good candidate for the problem.

Can anyone help with this, please?

Firstly I don’t know what this thing is or what it does. Both mains go in and two connectors leave. There is power going in & nothing coming out. I can find no reset button or any other clue so I’m guessing it’s a fuse or failsafe of some sort?

Is there anywhere I can look at a circuit diagram, service manual, parts explosion or the like?

Sorry it’s a lot to chew on before the F1 but we doo need some informed help here.

    Regards, Mike

Not sure but the wagon wheel type biscuit thing you describe could be a pressure switch.
Power on most Bekos will come in on the maims cable through a filter/suppressor onto mains switch.
Most likely from what you describe so eloquently , the P.C.Bs away, not an expensive part though compared to most makes. Part num’ 2324100400

    Thanks for the comments, Seamy.

As the unit is only just out of warranty we’ve managed to persuade Beko to fix it FOC, a nice gesture from them.

    Regards, Mike
