BEKO WM6112W wont progress from Wash cycle

Hope someone can point me in the direction of fault finding this one.

So machine is a BEKO WM6112W around two years old. Just recently it is sticking on the cycle during the wash phase. It is filling/heating and spinning but appears unable to progress to the rinse phase. I have cleaned out the filter in case there was something stuck but that has made no difference. If I turn the machine off and then on I can set to rinse and spin and it will complete that OK. Equally a drain and spin will work on its own.

Having read for hours on forums I wonder if it might the timer but not sure and wonder if there is some sort of relay that should click it on to the next part of the cycle that is damaged.

Any help greatly appreciated as the machine itself has great access for repair unlike my old ones and I would love to be able to fix this myself.

Are you sure it’s heating as that’s the top reason it’d stop on the wash?
