ParticipantHi, my first post on here….
Our Beko WMA 510S has developed a strange fault. On a spin cycle, the cold supply to the machine ‘pulses’ for a split second about every twenty seconds or so, it’s enough to create a ‘hammering’ noise in the cold water pipes.
I’ve removed the hose to the water pump and I won 25p on the washing machine lottery, along with a few bits of fluff. The noise, however, persists even though I know the pump is clear now.
I’ve verified it was the cold feed as I can feel the ‘pulse’ through the cold tap and can see water drip for a split second in the soap tray when the ‘pulse’ goes off.
Can anyone tell me how to cure this please?
Thanks

Electrical noise from the drive motor will be causing a corruption issue in the computer board.
This may be being caused by the carbon brushes becoming low or sticking in their holders, an excess of carbon dust allowing slight earth leakage or the motor itself may be breaking down.
Power off if you intend to investigate this yourself.

Thanks, I’ll start by changing the brushes.

OK, new brushes have been fitted and there’s no difference, in fact over the last week or so it’s been getting worse.
I think it’s a motor out job now, to make sure that everything is clean and free from carbon dust.

The next thing I would change is your user name.

Hi
Sorry about the name, I didn’t mean to cause offence. 😳
I cleaned the motor up and everything is working fine now; thanks very much for all of your help, I am very grateful.
