I replaced a set of bearings on this about 4 or 5 weeks ago, but I got a call to go out to the machine as the customer reckons it is ripping there clothes ever since it had the bearings replaced. The original bearing job went smoothly so I went out to have a look.
The customer showed me the clothes with the holes in, it looked to me as if a bra wire had gotten loose and was possibly popping through now and again and catching the clothes, but when I checked the machine there were no foreign objects in there, nor in the sump hose or pump???
I had a feel around the inside of the drum but it was as smooth as a babys’,
I checked the drum seems but they were all intact. All I could think was that there may have been something loose within the washload itself??
    Any suggestions would be helpful.
    Cheers

probably the door gasket .there is a replacement seal for these as the drum was rubbing against it,on the wma510,i guess it could be the same problem. check if there is a groove worn on the seal.hope this helps

Any splits in the drum at the back or front where the circunferance meets them, usually only found by pushing hard at seam to see if it will part.

Cheers chaps, but I felt all around the door seal there were no grooves, ridges or anything. I did try the drum circumferance seems as I have come across them being split before.
    Thanks anyway :rolls:

I had a customer complaining that jeans were torn and other items in a new machine a few months old, checked around and found 3 or 4 small peices of bamboo in the filter which were left in a pocket, wasn’t that sure at the time they were responsible bt never heards from her again.
Wranglers brought back from US would have cost me phew 🙂

I will ask if they have a tumble dryer, also if they have a cat, I’ve just remembered a job a few years back, same sort of problem turned out she was drying her clothes over the radiators and her cat was streching up and clawing her clothes as they dried 😯

Or could be that they are buying Primark clothes and then being amazed when they start falling apart after a couple of washes :rolls:

    Cheers fellas.

Damage to clothes is not always by mechanical means.

Many hair products can cause fibers to come away when washed in a machine.

Did you check the labels, I had many calls to damaged items that when checked had Hand Wash Only on the labels.

Once out of 8 damaged Items 7 were hand wash only and the 9th was so old the label info was gone. :rolls:

I used to have a list of products and pictures, but it got lost on a damaged laptop. 😥

A high percentage of damage is usually caused by other factors.

Thanks Lee, I really don’t think that the machine is at fault, just wanted to check with you boys, to make sure I had covered everything.

I think that the customer might be trying it on a bit. originally I replaced the drum bearings and when I was stripping the machine I found that the heater had been disconnected when I tested the heater it was leaking to earth, the heater bracket was gone so the heater had been rubbing on the drum.

When I returned the machine to them I explained what I had found and that I had replaced the bracket, the heater and obviously the bearings.

When they phoned me the other day they were complaining of tearing, bad smells, and dirty marks on clothes……. which never happened before the machine was repaired.

Of course none of these faults were noticed until about 4 -5 weeks after the repaired machine had been returned to them……. Quality :rolls:

Knowing Beko customers there probably feed up with the piece of crap and want it exchanged if its in warranty and if its out of warranty they want cash back. 😥

Tell them you`ve checked and found the machine to be ok, put a report in writting and if there still unhappy tell them to send the clothes to an independent lab for inspection and have an independent inspection of the appliance.

    Or fcuk off.
