    machine does most of the cycle then drains and wont advance ,if you put it on rinse and spin its fine ,element okay ,changed PCB fault still present ,pressure system clear etc .
    any pointers

    Sounds like its not spinning all the time?
    I’d check the wiring to the motor and the magnet in the tacho. Those magnets are troublesome and any damage to them can make it spin intermittently.

    “rinse and spin” = last rinse? = fill via cond. valve?
    You see what I’m getting at.
